Addie had quite the summer with a big trip to Portland to visit family. While she was in Portland she went to the Zoo, the ocean and even a beer festival! I was worried about how she might respond to the ocean, but she actually fell in love with it and was very upset when we had to leave. I would have to say though that hands down Amanda's and Mike's backyard was her absolute favorite. She made sure she took everyone on tour of all of the plants and trees. There is one picture of her and her Uncle Mike and I swear it looks like she is explaining something of great detail to him. Maybe she was telling him how she would manage a construction team. Or maybe how the Packers will be just fine without that Favre guy. Whatever she was telling him he looks as though he was paying attention.

We also got to visit our new nephew Grady for the first time. He is such a handsome little fella! Addie just kept referring to him as baby and I think she enjoyed stealing or maybe the correct term would be "borrowing" his stuffed animals. They also had a photo shoot that they were supposed to do together; however, I don't think either one of them were going to share the flash. The photographer actually had to crop two pictures together to get one good one of them!

We just had a great time with the family and we can't wait to see everyone again at Thanksgiving. Which reminds me--Are people practicing warming up their vocal cords? There is a little friendly dieting competition going on currently and the losers get to sing their hearts out in a nice karaoke setting. Me me me me me me meeeeeeeeeeeee
